Authentic Aboriginal Art for Sale • Original Painting

Tina Napangardi Martin has been painting with the Warlukurlangu Artist Centre since 1996. She paints her father’s Jukurrpa stories which include Yurrampi Jukurrpa (Honey Ant Dreaming) and Janyinki Jukurrpa (Yanyinki Dreaming). Tina especially enjoys painting when her children and grandchildren are watching to explain to them the meaning of the different designs and patterns.

This ‘Jintiparnta Jukurrpa’ (Desert Truffle Dreaming) comes from Mina Mina. Mina Mina is an extremely important ceremonial site for Napangardi and Napanangka women that is located approximately 600kms west of the Art Centre at Yuendumu. Yuendumu is in the Central Desert of Australia and is located 290km north west from Alice Springs in the Northern Territory.

This painting works beautifully in modern, coastal and minimalist spaces, adding warmth, colour and a distinctly Australian story. Whether you are an experienced collector or purchasing your first piece of Aboriginal art, this work by Tina Napangardi Martin is a confident and considered choice.

Purchasing authentic Aboriginal art for sale in Australia supports Indigenous artists and helps sustain one of the world’s oldest continuing cultures.

How The Art Is Sourced

This artwork comes from Warlukurlangu Artists Aboriginal Corporation in Yuendumu, Central Australia. Established in 1985, it is one of the longest running Aboriginal-owned art centres and operates as a 100% Aboriginal-owned, not-for-profit organisation.

More than 600 artists from Yuendumu, Nyirripi and surrounding communities contribute their work. Warlukurlangu is renowned for its colourful acrylic paintings and limited-edition prints, which have been exhibited nationally and internationally.

The name “Warlukurlangu” means “belonging to fire” in the Warlpiri language. The centre exists to maintain and share Indigenous culture, support artists, and pass traditions to future generations.
