5 Wonderful Ways To Celebrate Australia Day January 14 2015

Australia Day is a great opportunity to celebrate everything we love about this wide, brown land and what it really means to be Australian and proud. Have you thought about how you are going to spend Australia Day this year? Perhaps you have already organised a BBQ or are having people over for lunch? Well, here are 5 fantastic ideas to inspire your Australia Day celebrations in 2015.

1. Dress up in True Blue Aussie attire

Whether you are getting together with friends or family or heading along to a public event you can really get into the spirit of Australia Day by wearing some Aussie gear.  You can even have a prize for the best dressed on the day! Dress up as your favourite Australian icon or simply don the green and gold we guarantee you will have a load of laughs!

2. Start a street party

Do you remember playing with the kids in your street when you were growing up? It used to be much more common to get together with your neighbours and share food and celebrate festivities. There's no reason why you can't throw a neighbourhood street party today. Chances are you know a few of your neighbours and they would be happy to help you organise an Australia Day party.
Play backyard/street cricket and footy, get everyone to bring a plate of food and even put up some decorations in the trees and bushes. The neighbourhood kids will have a ball! These delightful water colour decorations featuring 4 Australian birds and 4 Australian flowers are perfect for hanging in your garden.

3. Australia Day At Work

Have you ever celebrated Australia Day at the office? You can organise a morning tea or lunch the day before Australia Day or another day during the week and it can be a great team building experience. Living overseas? It's also a great way to celebrate the day when you don't get to have the public holiday! Ask everyone to bake or bring a plate, and those who don't cook can help out with paper plates etc.
