A striking original Aboriginal artwork by Warlpiri artist Drusilla Nangala Spencer, measuring 91 x 76cm. Featuring soft pastel tones and intricate dot work, this painting reflects the rich visual language of contemporary Aboriginal art, where colour, pattern and movement express stories of Country and cultural knowledge passed through generations.

Drusilla Nangala Spencer is a Warlpiri artist associated with Warlukurlangu Artists in Yuendumu. Her work is known for its gentle colour palettes and carefully layered dot painting, often incorporating beautiful pastel tones that create a sense of movement across the canvas. Through repeated patterns and flowing forms, her artworks represent stories connected to Country and the ancestral knowledge that continues to shape Warlpiri culture.

At 91 x 76cm, this artwork offers a strong visual presence while remaining a versatile size for display in many spaces. The soft pastel colours create a calming yet detailed composition, making it a wonderful piece for collectors or anyone looking to bring authentic Aboriginal art into their home.

Painted on linen, the artwork can be professionally stretched or framed to suit your space, allowing the intricate detail and colour variation of the dot work to be fully appreciated.

This artwork is currently available to view in person at our Balmain store for those who would like to experience the texture and detail of the painting up close. It is also available to purchase online, with free standard delivery within Australia and worldwide shipping available.

Each artwork is a one-of-a-kind piece created by the artist and accompanied by documentation confirming the story and authenticity of the work.

How The Art Is Sourced

This artwork comes from Warlukurlangu Artists Aboriginal Corporation in Yuendumu, Central Australia. Established in 1985, it is one of the longest running Aboriginal-owned art centres and operates as a 100% Aboriginal-owned, not-for-profit organisation.

More than 600 artists from Yuendumu, Nyirripi and surrounding communities contribute their work. Warlukurlangu is renowned for its colourful acrylic paintings and limited-edition prints, which have been exhibited nationally and internationally.

The name “Warlukurlangu” means “belonging to fire” in the Warlpiri language. The centre exists to maintain and share Indigenous culture, support artists, and pass traditions to future generations.
