Aboriginal art for sale by Alison Nungarrayi Larry at Bits of Australia.

This vibrant Indigenous canvas is 91 x 61cm in size and is from Central Australia. Delivered rolled up you can choose how and in which direction you want to display it.

Alison is from Kintore, a remote Aboriginal community 550km west of Alice Springs. When she was young, her father died and her mother raised Alison and her three sisters alone. Alison now lives in Kiwirrkurra, a Western Australian community in the Gibson Desert west of Alice Springs.

She uses an original palette to paint the site of her Jukurrpa (dreamings) developing a modern, individualistic style to depict her traditional Jukurrpa.

Yumari is a collection of rocks west of Kintore in the Gibson Desert. Yumari is the site of a forbidden love union between a Japaljarri man and a Nangala woman.

How The Art Is Sourced

This artwork comes from Warlukurlangu Artists Aboriginal Corporation in Yuendumu, Central Australia. Established in 1985, it is one of the longest running Aboriginal-owned art centres and operates as a 100% Aboriginal-owned, not-for-profit organisation.

More than 600 artists from Yuendumu, Nyirripi and surrounding communities contribute their work. Warlukurlangu is renowned for its colourful acrylic paintings and limited-edition prints, which have been exhibited nationally and internationally.

The name “Warlukurlangu” means “belonging to fire” in the Warlpiri language. The centre exists to maintain and share Indigenous culture, support artists, and pass traditions to future generations.
