Original Aboriginal Art for Sale by Kershini Napaljarri Collins
This original Aboriginal artwork by Kershini Napaljarri Collins brings strong colour and movement to the canvas, reflecting her connection to Country and the Dreaming stories she paints. The composition has been created to be viewed from multiple directions, allowing flexibility in how it is displayed.
Kershini was born in 1996 in Alice Springs and lives in Yuendumu, a remote Aboriginal community in the Northern Territory. After losing both her parents at a young age, she was raised by her Auntie, Alma Nangala Robertson, an artist at the local art centre. Kershini attended school in Yuendumu and began painting there during school holidays, before painting regularly with Warlukurlangu Artists from 2014.
She paints Ngatijirri Jukurrpa (Budgerigar Dreaming) and Marlu Jukurrpa (Kangaroo Dreaming), stories connected to Jila (Chilla Well), a claypan west of Yuendumu. These Dreamings were passed down to her by her father and Aunties, and remain central to her work.
Kershini combines traditional iconography with a contemporary approach, developing her own distinctive style while maintaining strong cultural knowledge. When not painting, she enjoys hunting and watching football in her community.
At 46 x 46cm, this piece is well suited to a range of spaces, offering a meaningful way to bring colour and story into your home or office, or as an authentic Australian souvenir or gift.
