Retail Assistant – Balmain East (Store & Online)
Casual (Regular Part-Time Hours)

Bits of Australia is an established Australian made gift retailer with stores in Balmain and Manly, alongside a national online store.

We are looking for an experienced, reliable and detail-oriented Retail Assistant to support day-to-day operations in our Balmain store. This is a hands-on role combining in-store customer service, online order fulfilment and stock handling.

This is a casual position with regular ongoing shifts each week.

Days & Hours

• Monday and Saturday (essential)
• Plus 1–2 additional mornings

About the Role

You will be working closely with the owner and supporting the smooth running of the Balmain store. This role requires someone comfortable moving between customer service, online orders and operational tasks throughout the day.

Key responsibilities include:

• Serving customers and delivering a professional in-store experience
• Assisting customers with product selection, including Australian gifts and artwork
• Packing and dispatching online orders accurately and efficiently
• Receiving and processing new stock
• Maintaining store presentation and organisation
• Assisting with restocking and stock checks
• Using POS and online systems as part of daily operations

About You

• Previous retail experience is required
• Confident using POS systems and comfortable learning online fulfilment systems
• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Comfortable speaking with customers and assisting with sales
• Organised, proactive and takes responsibility for their work
• Looking for consistent, ongoing casual work

We pride ourselves on delivering a high standard of customer experience and accuracy in everything we do. This role requires someone who can work independently and maintain those standards without close supervision.

This role is not suitable for temporary or working holiday visa holders. We are looking for someone seeking ongoing, stable employment.
