Royalties from this product directly benefit the Aboriginal artist Ben Jangala Gallagher and his community.
Australian made Aboriginal art wooden coaster.
Sold individually the colourful coasters have been created by Bits of Australia through a collaboration with Australian makers and artists.
The wooden coaster has had stunning Aboriginal artwork by Ben Jangala Gallagher printed on it. Ben paints with the Warlukurlangu Art Centre in Central Australia. The centre is a non-for-profit organisation that is 100% Aboriginal owned by its artists from the remote communities of Yuendumu and Nyirripi.
Product Details:
Ben is a successful Aboriginal artist born in Yuendumu, a remote Indigenous community in the Northern Territory of Australia. He moved to Nyirripi with his family in 1978 where his mother began painting with the Warlukurlangu Aboriginal Artists. After he left school, Ben became a carpenter and travelled around the country building houses. In 2007 he followed in his mother’s footsteps and began to paint for Warlukurlangu Artists. Ben paints his Jukurrpa stories which relate directly to his land and its features, animals and plants.
The coaster makes a small ethical gift for Christmas. It is perfect for family, friends and corporate gifting. Lightweight it is also a unique Australian gift to send overseas.
