A striking original Aboriginal painting by Warlpiri artist Valma Nakamarra White, measuring 76 x 46cm. Created using traditional dot painting techniques, the artwork reflects the rich visual language of contemporary Australian Aboriginal art, where pattern, colour and movement connect to stories of Country and cultural knowledge passed down through generations.

Valma Nakamarra White paints Napaljarri-warnu Jukurrpa (Seven Sisters Dreaming), an important story connected to Warlpiri Country and the ancestral journeys of the Seven Sisters across the landscape. This story has been passed down through generations and is represented through intricate dot work and carefully layered composition.

At 76 x 46cm, this versatile size works well in a range of spaces, whether displayed on its own or as part of a gallery-style arrangement. It’s a beautiful piece of Australian Aboriginal art that brings colour, story and connection to your home or office.

Painted on canvas and supplied unstretched, the artwork offers flexibility when framing to suit your home. As the painting has been created from multiple directions, it can be stretched and displayed in different orientations.

How The Art Is Sourced

This artwork comes from Warlukurlangu Artists Aboriginal Corporation in Yuendumu, Central Australia. Established in 1985, it is one of the longest running Aboriginal-owned art centres and operates as a 100% Aboriginal-owned, not-for-profit organisation.

More than 600 artists from Yuendumu, Nyirripi and surrounding communities contribute their work. Warlukurlangu is renowned for its colourful acrylic paintings and limited-edition prints, which have been exhibited nationally and internationally.

The name “Warlukurlangu” means “belonging to fire” in the Warlpiri language. The centre exists to maintain and share Indigenous culture, support artists, and pass traditions to future generations.
