Original Aboriginal Painting – Bess Napanangka Poulson (61 x 30cm, Unstretched)

Visit our Australian souvenir shop in Manly to view this beautiful Aboriginal artwork in person, or purchase it online.

A striking original Aboriginal artwork by Warlpiri artist Bess Napanangka Poulson, measuring 61 x 30cm and presented unstretched. The artwork reflects the rich visual language of contemporary Aboriginal art, where pattern, colour and rhythm connect to stories of Country and cultural knowledge passed through generations.

Bess Napanangka Poulson has been painting with Warlukurlangu Artists in Yuendumu since 2009. Her work is connected to the site of Puyurru, located west of Yuendumu, where the usually dry creek beds contain naturally occurring soakages known as mulju. In Warlpiri culture the custodians, or kirda, for this site are Nangala and Nampijinpa women together with Jangala and Jampijinpa men. Stories connected to the site include two Jangala rainmakers who sang the rain, unleashing a powerful storm across the landscape.

At 61 x 30cm, this elongated format creates a distinctive visual presence while remaining an accessible size to display in a variety of spaces. It also makes a meaningful and authentic Australian souvenir or gift, offering visitors the opportunity to take home a genuine piece of Aboriginal art.

Painted on canvas and supplied unstretched, the artwork offers flexibility when framing to suit your home. As the painting has been created from multiple directions, it can be stretched and displayed in different orientations.

This painting is currently available to view in person at our Manly store for those who would like to experience the texture and detail of the artwork up close. It is also available to purchase online, with free standard delivery within Australia and worldwide shipping available.

Each artwork is a one-of-a-kind piece created by the artist and accompanied by documentation outlining the story and authenticity of the work.
