Ready to Hang Aboriginal Art by Emma Nangari Roepcke
This original Aboriginal artwork by Emma Nangari Roepcke reflects a deeply personal connection to culture, Country and family. Through fine dot work and layered colour, her paintings express stories and elements of the landscape, creating a sense of rhythm and quiet movement across the canvas.
Emma Nangari was born in Port Augusta, South Australia, to a Pitjantjatjara Ngaanyatjarra mother. While she grew up and went to school in Whyalla, her family regularly travelled to Alice Springs and Hermannsburg, maintaining strong ties to extended family and culture. After finishing school, Emma worked for over 20 years as an Indigenous teaching assistant.
Painting has become an important way for Emma to reconnect with her traditional culture after many years working in the mainstream education system. It also reflects the influence of her grandfather, who made a strong effort to pass on cultural knowledge during her childhood. Her work carries this sense of continuity, connection and personal meaning.
At 30 x 30cm and pre-stretched, this artwork is ready to hang and an easy addition to your home or office. Its compact size makes it ideal as a meaningful Australian souvenir or gift, or for adding an authentic piece of Aboriginal art to your space.
This artwork is available to view at our Balmain East store, or can be purchased online for delivery Australia-wide.
