This original  acrylic painting is titled Lappi Lappi Jukurrpa (Lappi Lappi Dreaming) by Antonia Napangardi Michaels at Warlukurlangu artists. Lappi Lappi is a rock hole near Lake Hazlett in WA, surrounded by country rich in bush tucker, a safe place where many mothers used to gather with their young children.

Antonia is the daughter of Andrea Nungarrayi Wilson and Chris Japanangka Michaels and granddaughter of Alice Nampijinpa Henworth, all major Warlpiri artists. She paints her Grandmother’s Lappi LappiDreaming, stories which relate directly to her land, its features and the plants and animals that inhabit it.
