Nathania was born into a family of artists, and grew up listening to her mother’s and her father’s Jukurrpa stories. She has been painting since 2011. The painting depicts a story of an old man and his two sons, who hunted a sacred kangaroo and were punished with raging bush fires chasing them.
Established in 1985 Warlukurlangu is a not-for-profit organisation that is 100% Aboriginal-owned by its artists from the remote desert communities of Yuendumu and Nyirripi in Central Australia. Warlukurlangu Artists is famous for its gloriously colourful acrylic paintings. The art centre has a national and international profile and its art has been featured in hundreds of exhibitions and publications in Australia and around the world.
Every painting is accompanied by a signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity which tells the story relating to the painting and some information about the artist.
Bits of Australia acknowledges and pays respect to the past, present and emerging Traditional Custodians and Elders of this nation. We celebrate the inherent strengths of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their culture.
