This colourful metal dog ornament has been hand painted on both sides in the Northern Territory at the Aboriginal Warlukulangu Artist Centre.

The one of a kind metal dogs are a great community initiative and they make a unique Australian gift. It is approximately 15cm long and 10cm high. The shape is based on an actual dog that has been looked after by the Warlukurlangu Healthy Animals in the Community initiative. This is Rambo and he has been captured mid howl!

Rambo is a dingo, he was near an outstation 150km from Yuendumu. He had been hunted but when he was brought to the Warlukurlangu community it was decided it was better for him to be with the Dog Lady ( assistant manager of the art centre who cares for injured animals). He learn to trust people and now enjoys coming and going from the house.

The metal ornament has been cut in the local prison and then painted on both sides  by Aboriginal artists at the Warlukulangu Artist Centre. It really is an authentic Australian made item. Artists & the art centre receive proceeds from the sale of the work.

Established in 1985 the Warlukurlangu Artists Aboriginal Corporation is a not-for-profit organisation that is 100% Aboriginal-owned by its artists from the remote desert communities of Yuendumu and Nyirripi in Central Australia.

Warlukurlangu Artists is famous for its gloriously colourful acrylic paintings and limited edition prints. The art centre has a national and international profile and its art has been featured in hundreds of exhibitions and publications in Australia and around the world.

A wonderful thank you gift for corporate events or a special something for your Dad for Father's Day and Christmas.

Each dog comes with a tag with details of the Warlukurlangu Artists Aboriginal Corporation and the Desert Dogs Program. Sale of the dogs directly benefits these organisations.

As this is a unique one of a kind item the artwork and textures of the ornament also have their individual characteristics and the photo imagery will not always pick up on these.
