This acrylic painting is titled Mina Mina Jukurrpa (Mina Mina Dreaming), painted by Aboriginal artist Margaret Napangardi Lewis.
Margaret paints this Dreaming which comes from Mina Mina, an important women's Dreaming site to the west of Yuendumu where the Warlukurlangu art centre, where Margaret paints, is located. Margaret's painting uses the traditional iconography of sinuous lines to represent the 'Ngalyipi' or 'snake vine'. The ancestral women in the Dreamtime travelled whilst collecting this snake vine, creating many places as they went.
Established in 1985 Warlukurlangu Artists Aboriginal Corporation is a not-for-profit organisation that is 100% Aboriginal-owned by its artists from the remote desert communities of Yuendumu and Nyirripi in Central Australia.
