This stunning 61cm x 30cm canvas is an authentic Indigenous artwork from Central Australia. Delivered rolled up you can choose how and when you want to display it.

The original Aboriginal artwork makes a special Australian gift for family and friends overseas for special birthdays or as a wedding present.

The painting is titled Yarla Jukurrpa (Bush Potato Dreaming) - Cockatoo Creek by Shikera Pitjara Petrick at Warlukurlangu artists.

Shikira Pitjara Petrick was born in 1998 in Alice Springs Hospital. For several years, she travelled the country, visiting family and learning about her land. Shikira now lives in Alice Spring with her partner and two children – Lashani, who was born in 2014 and her son born in 2017. She speaks Alyawarra and English, and can also understand Warlpiri. She mainly paints her mother’s Yarla Jukurrpa (Bush Potato Dreaming – Cockatoo), ‘Dreamings’ that relate directly to her land, its features and the plants and animals that inhabit it. These stories were passed down to her by her mother and her mother’s mother before her for millennia.

Established in 1985 Warlukurlangu is a not-for-profit organisation that is 100% Aboriginal-owned by its artists from the remote desert communities of Yuendumu and Nyirripi in Central Australia. Warlukurlangu Artists is famous for its gloriously colourful acrylic paintings and limited edition prints. The art centre has a national and international profile and its art has been featured in hundreds of exhibitions and publications in Australia and around the world.

Sale of this artwork directly benefits the artist and the Warlukurlangu Artist community. Every painting is accompanied by a signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity which tells the story relating to the painting and some information about the artist.
