Anise Myrtle flakes.

Flaked leaves from the Anise Myrtle tree, Syzygium anisatum, found in the rainforests of the Bellingen and Nambucca river valleys in north-eastern New South Wales, these leaves have a distinctive liquorice taste and give a distinct flavour to your cooking.

Use them in desserts, sweet sauces and preserves, fish, pork, ice cream and drinks.

Contemporary uses include curries and sauces, breads, confectionery, marinades and liqueurs.

Traditionally Aboriginal people used it medicinally as a tonic which had a vitalising effect.

This 100% Australian bush tucker ingredient can be paired with our other native bush foods to make a unique sampler gift for Christmas or other special occasion.

Sourced from a Queensland-based Indigenous woman led business. This Australian small business works sustainably with Aboriginal communities growing and harvesting bush tucker ingredients and promoting Australian natural foods.
