Lloyd Brown is the grandson of Paddy Japaljarri Stewart, one of the founding artists of Warlukurlangu Artists and one of the main painters of the famous Yuendumu School Doors. Lloyd first started painting for the art centre on small canvas boards which are given to the school children as part of the art centre cultural maintenance program during the school holidays. He has been painting on canvas since 2002 and paints the stories that have been passed down to him relating to traditional country, the animals and features which are commonly found in those places.

This painting depicts a Yankirri Jukurrpa, or Emu Dreaming, from a place called Ngarlikurlangu, approximately 50kms north of Yuendumu. Yuendumu is in the Central Desert of Australia and is located 290km north west from Alice Springs in the Northern Territory.

The original Aboriginal artwork makes a unique Australian gift for family and friends overseas for special birthdays or as a wedding present. Or, add some beautiful Australian wall art to your home - it is perfect for entrance halls, the office, dining room and lounge room.

Sale of this artwork directly benefits the artist and the Warlukurlangu Artist community.

The painting is accompanied by a signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity which tells the story related to the painting and some information about the artist.

This original Aboriginal artwork is from the Warlukurlangu Art Centre. Established in 1985 Warlukurlangu is a not-for-profit organisation that is 100% Aboriginal-owned by its artists from the remote desert communities of Yuendumu and Nyirripi in Central Australia.

Warlukurlangu Artists is famous for its gloriously colourful acrylic paintings. The art centre has a national and international profile and its art has been featured in hundreds of exhibitions and publications in Australia and around the world.
