This original artwork would make a unique souvenir from Australia. The title of the artwork is Country Around Yuendumu and features the iconic Australian kangaroo and emu.

Yuendumu is a small remote town in the Central Desert of the Northern Territory. It is  293 km northwest of Alice Springs on the Tanami Road and ranks as one of the larger remote communities in Central Australia, and has a thriving community of Aboriginal artists.

The artist Patricia Nakamarra Olfield, was born in 1982 in Alice Springs Hospital, the closest hospital to Yuendumu. She has lived in Yuendumu most of her life. She is actively involved with the Mt Theo Program, in particular the Jaru Pirrjirdi Youth Development, which incorporates the Yuendumu Youth Program.

This original Aboriginal artwork is from the Warlukurlangu Art Centre. Established in 1985 Warlukurlangu is a not-for-profit organisation that is 100% Aboriginal-owned by its artists from the remote desert communities of Yuendumu and Nyirripi in Central Australia.

Warlukurlangu Artists is famous for its gloriously colourful acrylic paintings. The art centre has a national and international profile and its art has been featured in hundreds of exhibitions and publications in Australia and around the world.
