Gifts for wine lovers - Aussie wine month! May 18 2016

May is Australian Wine Month - an annual celebration of Australia's internationally renowned, and award winning wines, wine makers and wine regions. Dozens of events are being held right across the country every week, including food and wine pairings, vineyard and cellar tours, tastings and many more.

Whether you're a simple wine lover or a connoisseur, we have some great Australian wine inspired gifts and accessories like our real Banksia wooden bottle stop and Aboriginal art wine coolers to help keep and enjoy your wine longer.

Australia's best wines come from the southern states of New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia, and the well known regions of the Hunter Valley, Mornington Peninsula, Yarra Valley, Clare Valley, McLaren Vale, Margaret River and Swan River.

These modern tea towels prints have been inspired by Australia's most popular red wines and feature South Australia's top three wine regions - Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale and Clare Valley.

Did you know that the Shiraz and Chardonnay varieties make up a majority of locally made wines and South Australia produces 50% of all wine made in Australia?! Despite this, many Australian wineries are working to diversify and now also offer some great Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blancs (our favourite!) and Queensland and Tasmania are also beginning to produce some great wines.

Whatever your taste or preference, raise a glass with us this month and don't forget to pick up our colourful Bits of Australia or reef print coasters for a truly Australian wine drinking experience (and to protect your table of course!)
